As students entered Camp-Read-A-Lot, you could hear gasps of “Awesome”, “Cool”, and “Look at that”.  Those were the exact thoughts I had when I viewed this site.  An actual camp had been set up in our Library, thanks to the hard work of Laura Martin, Linda Titera, Laura Hood, Jim Martin and others.  When the students entered Camp-Read-A-Lot, they read books on logs, in the tent, around the fire pit, in lounge chairs while wearing their shorts, hats, and sunglasses.  After reading for a while, they joined Jim Martin in a sing-along while he played his guitar.  What a perfect way to celebrate Dr. Seuss birthday and Read Across America Day.
